After over 40 years of being entranced by our Salukis we want to share with you the joys of their lives and the pains of their losses. Our focus is on the health and welfare of this exquisite breed and we invite all companion owners to contribute any item, story or blog that will enhance our knowledge and understanding of any issues affecting the wellbeing of the noble ones.

We also welcome companion owners of other Sighthounds to join us in this ‘share and care’ site – your specialist knowledge will be invaluable. Add to our information about your particular breed (post a photo?) or tell us about your own hound family members. We ask that no one is shy of admitting to any illness or condition your hound(s) may have suffered. Hidden facts hide healthy solutions.  We never thought cancer would affect any of our Salukis, bred so carefully from strong and healthy lines, but after 23 years without a single case in the pack we had to join the unhappy statistics. We have our hopeful and heartening stories too: please share yours.

Photo above is of Meval Sharav Jacinth, bred from UK/Finnish bloodlines on the dam's side and true desert-bred  stock from his sire.

Established with Salukis bred from the oldest lines in the UK and Middle East and bloodlines from the Negev desert. Top photo is of Dakhilak Shuhban at Meval (Rowan) and Daxlore Miracle (Willow).

Above is our Israeli Champion Razael Darbuka at Meval (Paschale) with co-owner Michael White.  She came out of retirement (at 9 years of age) following an illustrious championship show career to help canine cancer victims and other dog charities. Seen here winning Best in Show at a charity event in Ayia Napa, Cyprus.

This site is dedicated to the memory of Shuhban and Shira. Shuhban was my perfect ‘boy’ whose name means Shooting Star or Bright Flame and that’s what he was to me for many years. When I lost him the brightness and flame were extinguished in life but not in my heart.

Shira’s name means ‘Song’ and her full title was
Meval Song Angel (see photo in 'Gallery').  She was a lively and joyful companion and she too still sings in my memory and for all who remember this delightful creature.   (Andrea Lily)
